Snowmobile

The Snowmobile Trails can be opened from December 1 – March 31, if, all trails are cleared, marked and signed and the trails receive sufficient snow cover (generally a minimum of 4"-6") Potential damage to underlying lands is a major factor in opening/closing decisions.  The 1st opening of the Snowmobile Trail is usually postponed until after the antlerless deer hunt in mid-December to accommodate landowners hunting interests on lands where the trails cross.

Dodge County’s snowmobile trail system consists of 379.9 miles of publicly funded and groomed County Trails and roughly 51.9 miles of privately funded Club Trails that await the winter recreationist (Total of 431.8 miles). The trails traverse the county through farm fields, woodlots, lowlands and open areas mostly over privately owned land thanks to our gracious landowners.

Roughly 20 miles are shared with ATVs on the Wild Goose State Trail (an abandoned railroad corridor) from Hwy 49 at the Fond du Lac County line south to Hwy 60.

Know before you go!

Snowmobilers need to verify trail status prior to riding by calling the 24 Hour Trail Status Line at (920) 386-3705. Riding when trails are closed or riding outside of the marked trail corridor is considered trespassing and may subject the rider to a citation with significant fees.
