The foreground of the image features tall, green reeds or cattails with brown tips, while the background shows a blurred, grassy field under a clear sky.

The Southern Housing Region was awarded $4,000,000 for the 2026 Community Development Block Grant-Housing.

The Southern Housing Region serves the following counties: Columbia (lead county), Dodge, Jefferson, Kenosha, Ozaukee, Racine, Rock, Sauk, Walworth and Washington.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides federal funding to states through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Wisconsin uses this federal funding to provide affordable housing, suitable living environments, and expanded economic opportunities for persons with low and moderate incomes.

The program assists income eligible low- to moderate income households with housing rehabilitation, conversion, and homebuyer activities.

Further details will be posted once the award and administrator contracts are finalized.
