Grant funds will go toward equipment to safely respond to hazardous spills and incidents

JUNEAU (Oct. 15, 2025) — The Generac Foundation has provided a $2,300 grant to the Dodge County Hazardous Materials Team to enable the purchase of specialized equipment and supplies to respond to and appropriately mitigate hazmat situations.

“Supporting organizations that respond to disasters and crisis is one of the Generac Foundation’s focus areas for giving,” said Kelly Skindzelewski, Community Programs Manager at Generac. “We are proud to contribute to the responders in Dodge County that is home to our newest manufacturing facility in Beaver Dam.”

The General donation will fund the purchase of:

  • Replacement seals for Chlorine A and Chlorine B kits — Critical to ensure that that if/when a chlorine emergency occurs, our kits will effectively hold the product in its cylinder.
  • PIG Pro Plus Drum Patch and Repair Kit — Will replace old worn out and well used plugging and patching tools that are upwards of 15-20 years old and degrading from years of use and training.
  • Laptop Mobile Docking Station for research and scene management — Used to plug our laptops into that we use to do chemical/product research on, scene planning and projecting to onboard screens for scene monitoring and management.

“By maintaining our equipment, we are at a constant state of readiness so that when a hazardous materials emergency occurs, we are able to respond quickly and appropriately mitigate the situation,” said Joe Meagher, Director, Dodge County Emergency Management. “Budget constraints often make it necessary to engage our community to secure additional resources. We are thankful to Generac for this grant.”

The Dodge County Hazardous Materials Team falls under Dodge County Emergency Management serving all of Dodge County and providing mutual aid to neighboring communities during large scale and complex events.
