Park Rules

Possessing or having control of any firearm or air gun as defined in § 939.22, Wis. Stats. is prohibited unless it is unloaded and enclosed in a carrying case or unless the possessor has a concealed carry license. Carrying a bow is prohibited unless it is unstrung or enclosed in a carrying case. Hunting, discharging or causing the discharge of any fireworks, missile from any firearm, sling shot, bow and arrow, air rifle, paintball gun, or any other weapon, within, from, into or across the boundaries of any park is prohibited.

Campers may stay a maximum seven (7) nights per site and a total of 14 nights per reservation group at each individual park.  Campers must vacate the park for 48 hours after a 14 night stay.

There is a three (3) night minimum for Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.  Fourth of July is not included.

Campers under 18 years of age must be under the supervision of a parent or guardian or must have written consent from that parent or guardian.

Motorized vehicles, if street legal, may be used on park roadways, not on bike or walking paths.  Motorized vehicles must be parked on proper drives or designated parking areas. Vehicles are prohibited on GREEN AREAS.  No vehicle stickers are required in Dodge County Parks.

Using any sound amplification device, loudspeaker, generator or other device that produces excessive, loud or unusual noises, except for park-sponsored events or unless with prior Department approval are prohibited.

Pets must be leashed at all times (maximum leash length - eight (8) feet), may not be left unattended, and must be cleaned up after.

Picnicking permitted only in designated areas.  Campsites may not be used as picnic areas.  Shelters may be used for picnicking on a first-come, first-served basis, if not already reserved.

The parks are open from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Only registered campers are permitted in the park after 8:30 p.m. Quiet time begins at 10 p.m. Please be considerate of others. Camping units need to be set up or taken down before 10 p.m. and after 6 a.m. so as not to disturb other campers. Shelter hours are from 10 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. (including clean up and vacating).  Loud, violent, abusive, obscene or otherwise disorderly conduct will not be tolerated.

Camping: If a camping reservation is cancelled seven (7) or more days in advance, the reservation will be returned to the credit card. FULL (Less the $5 Reservation Fee) refund to credit card if within 120 days of payment
or gift certificates if payment was beyond the 120 days. The $5 Reservation Fee is non-refundable.

Shelter or Pavilion: If a shelter or pavilion is cancelled seven (7) or more days in advance, there is a 50% refund. The $5 Reservation Fee is non-refundable.

Clubhouse: If the clubhouse is cancelled seven (7) or more days in advance, your full refund less $50 will be returned. The $5 Reservation Fee is non-refundable. LESS THAN SEVEN (7) DAYS:  If any reservations are cancelled LESS than seven (7) days, there is NO REFUND.

Advanced reservations require a $5 reservation fee.  The fee is non-refundable.

Shelter use is available between 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. unless special permission is obtained from the Parks Central Office or Park Attendant for earlier or later times. Decorations, banners, signs are permitted with the use of tape or pins and may not be placed on or over any Parks signs. Candles may be used if enclosed in glass.  All decorations and debris must be removed and cleaned up prior to departure.

Smoking is prohibited in all enclosed buildings. This includes pit toilets and portable toilets.

Speed limits for motorized vehicles are posted in all of our parks for the safety of our guests. Please abide by the posted speed limits.

Dodge County Parks do not have any dedicated swimming areas.  Due to safety concerns, Dodge County does not recommend swimming in any bodies of water that exist in our parks.

Dodge County Parks recycle. Please do your part to place recyclables and trash in the proper containers.

Garbage containers are available for garbage that has been produced during use in the park.  Containers are not for the convenience of dumping private household garbage. 

Park dumpsters and garbage containers are for the convenience of park users to dispose of garbage generated in the park.  Dumpsters are not for the convenience of dumping private household garbage.  It is illegal to dump trash in parks that is not generated in the parks.  A citation for illegal dumping may be given.  Dumpsters are either removed or locked during winter months.

Two types of water are located by each dump station - Drinking Water (potable) and Flushing Water.  Water from artesian wells are safe for drinking. Water is not turned on during cold weather.

Although there is good cellphone reception at many of our parks, Wi-Fi and wired Internet connections are not available at the Dodge County Parks. Many local businesses and public libraries in Dodge County offer public Wi-Fi.

All Dodge County Parks are closed for winter camping.

Camping season is April 15th through October 31st. All parks will remain open for day-use through the winter. Astico Park gates to the Point, Danville and the East entry will be closed and locked. Ledge Park is open to the Cave Trail parking lot. The Lower Ledge and Upper Ledge gates will be closed and locked.
