Genealogy

The Dodge County Register of Deeds Office is now open to genealogy research by appointment only. Please call our office at 920-386-3720 to schedule an appointment. Genealogical research hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Please bring a photo ID to your appointment.

Please note the following items when doing research:

  • Research birth, marriage and death records from 1877 to present.
  • Our records were destroyed by fire in September 1877. We have very few records that predate the fire.
  • A statewide vital records law went into effect June 1, 1907. Vital Records were not required to be filed before that time. 
  • All service discharges are confidential and not open to view by the public. These books are marked with a RED dot. 
  • Volumes marked with a YELLOW dot must be handled by the Register of Deeds Office and cannot be handled by the researcher.
