The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office would like to take this opportunity to explain the procedure we follow pertaining to billing for residential and business FALSE ALARMS received.
Pursuant to Dodge County Ordinance 5.08, when an alarm is received in our Communication Center, a call for service is created and officers are dispatched accordingly. The first false alarm received within one calendar year will not be charged for. If a second false alarm at that location is received within that same calendar year, the fee $15.00. For the third and subsequent false alarm calls received, the current fee is $25.00 per false alarm.
Should we receive a false alarm at your residence and/or business, we will send you an invoice detailing when that the false alarm was received.
As with any bill, your prompt payment is appreciated. We are happy to accept a check as payment or if you wish, for a small fee, you can make your payment online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by going to https://www.govpaynow.com/gps/user/plc/4107. This service, GovPayNet accepts credit, debit & prepaid debit card brands. If you use GovPayNet, you will need to choose the Payment Type of “Civil Process” and in the Case # field you must note “false alarm payment” so the funds are allocated appropriately. If you choose to make a payment by check, please make your check payable to Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
