COVID-19 Updates for Dodge County Parks

CDC Guidelines for Parks 


The Dodge County Parks and Trails currently remain OPEN from 7:00 am to 8:30 pm for DAY use activities of hiking, walking, biking and outdoor enjoyment.  The Dodge County Parks and Trails staff are committed to maintaining our facilities and keeping them open and as safe as possible for visitors and staff. We ask you to partner with us and respect others and follow the CDC guidelines for visiting parks. Take extra care of the parks during this time so we can keep them open for you.

  • Stay home if you are sick
  • Maintain social distancing of six feet (6') minimum and/or wear face covering
  • Visit parks and trails close to home and minimize your length of visit
  • Do not confront other that may choose not to follow safety guidelines
  • Avoid touching common surfaces to the extent possible
  • Bring and use hand sanitizer


  • EXISTING RESERVATIONS (May 25-June 30, 2020) - Existing reservations are allowed to camp in the parks.
  • NEW RESERVATIONSNew reservations can be made now for ARRIVALS BEGINNING July 1st online at  or by calling the Dodge County Parks Central Office at (920) 382-0262.
  • No Drive In Camping will be permitted until further notice – Advance Reservations Only.

Playgrounds are OPEN - please sanitize your hands before and after use.

Vault or portable toilets are OPEN in each park. Hand sanitizer and toilet paper is available on a limited basis; however, please consider bringing your own toiletry supplies and hand sanitizer as backup.

Flush Toilets will be OPEN - June 1st.  Shower Buildings at Astico/Derge/Ledge Parks will remain CLOSED.  Shower Building - Harnischfeger Park is OPEN.

Dump Stations/Water Fill-up are OPEN at Astico, Harnischfeger and Ledge ParksDerge Park is CLOSED due to repairs. Please take necessary precautions as staff are unable to sanitize common touch points after every use.

Firewood Ban is WAIVED - CLEAN firewood (no lumber) may be brought in.  Please do not leave any behind.  Self-purchase firewood bundles will be first come – first serve and may be limited in availability.  The cost of firewood is $5 per bundle and please have exact change for envelope due to limited staff contact.

Shelters and Pavilions are not available for rental/reservations until July.

Mini-Golf Course equipment is not available at this time.

Canoe/Kayaks are not available for rental, but piers and launches are available for use.

We continue to experience heavy visitation volumes. We recommend avoiding parks and trails at peak times (generally afternoons) and/or visiting less popular facilities in order to better maintain social distancing.  When camping re-opens, day use of the parks is not recommended on weekends to reduce overcrowding.

Please respect our staff and limit face-to-face contact for your safety and theirs. Limited park staff may be on site but the office areas will not be open for transactions.  Please monitor kiosks, display boards and signs for needed information and direction.

Older adults, pregnant women, people with weakened immune systems and people with underlying health conditions are at an increased risk of contracting COVID-19 and are encouraged to take extra precautions to reduce the risk.

Dodge County staff continue to monitor the latest information and directives surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak and situations are subject to change with short notice. Please monitor our website or Facebook page for additional updates.
