Notary Publics are available to the public at the Dodge County Clerk’s Office during regular office hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday–Friday. 

Documents requiring a notary’s signature must be complete and can only be signed in the presence of the notary, and proof of identity must be made available to the notary. This service is free of charge.

NOTICE TO ALL DODGE COUNTY DOG OWNERS

The collecting official, your local Municipal Treasurer, shall be responsible for the collection of all dog tax and issuance of all licenses during the license year.

Pursuant to Chapters 95 and 174, Wisconsin Statutes, notice is hereby given to all owners of dogs in Dodge County that a rabies vaccination and dog license are required.

Vaccination by a veterinarian against rabies of all dogs is required (Section 95.21 (2)) within thirty (30) days after the dog reaches four (4) months of age and re-vaccinated within one year after the initial vaccination. Older vaccinated dogs must be re-vaccinated when the certificate expires or within three (3) years of the previous vaccination. Certificates of current vaccination must be presented when obtaining a dog license.

The owner of a dog more than five (5) months of age on January 1 of any year, or five (5) months of age within the license year, shall annually, or on or before the date the dog becomes 5 months of age, pay the dog license tax and obtain a license (Section 174.05).

The minimum dog license tax is $3.00 for a neutered male dog or spayed female dog, upon presentation of evidence that the dog is neutered or spayed, and $8.00 for an unneutered male dog or unspayed female dog, or one-half of these amounts if the dog became 5 months of age after July 1 of the license year. The governing body may raise the minimum dog license tax.

PENALTIES: A late fee of $5.00 shall be assessed the owner of each dog five (5) months of age or older who fails to obtain a dog license prior to April 1st of the current year, or within 30 days of acquiring ownership of a licensable dog or if the owner failed to obtain a license on or before the dog reached licensable age (Section 174.05 (5)). The governing body may also increase the amount of the late fee.

An owner who fails to have a dog vaccinated against rabies as required by Statute, may be required to forfeit not less than $50.00 nor more than $100.00 (Section 95.21 (10)).

Work Permits — Work permits are now handled online by the Department of Workforce Development (DWD). If you are the parent of a 14 or 15 year old in Wisconsin, you can file for their work permit online with DWD.

Unemployment — The state Unemployment Insurance program is overseen and managed by the Department of Workforce Development (DWD). Information on how to apply can be found on DWD's Unemployment Insurance website.

Voter Registration — If you need to register to vote in Dodge County, you should do that through your local municipality or start the process online through myvote.wi.gov.

DNR Licenses — All hunting and fishing licenses can now be done online through the DNR's Go Wild website.

Passports — All passport applications, new and renewal, can be done in person or online. Please visit the U.S. State Department's website for more information on paperwork, photos and submission requirements.

To file a claim against Dodge County, please follow the requirements outlined in Wis. Stat. § 893.80. The Dodge County Incident Form must be requested in person from the County Clerk’s Office. The form must be completed in full, and all relevant supporting documentation should be included. Incomplete forms will not be accepted.
